About the region / estate :
Perched in the Jampui Hills of Tripura, Vanghmun Village is surrounded by forests, cool mountain air and the region's renowned orange orchards. These conditions encourage slow cherry maturation, producing coffees with remarkable sweetness, vibrant fruit character and exceptional balance.
Roasters thought :
Jampui Hills offers a distinctive expression of North Eastern Indian coffee. By keeping development measured and airflow high, we've preserved the region's vibrant fruit character while allowing the natural process to build sweetness and structure into a clean, balanced cup.
Brew Approach:
18 GMS Med-Fine (Fellow Ode Gen 2.0, 3.8 Setting)
50 ML bloom 45 seconds
Swirl immediately after pour
Then 80 ML
Then At 1.30 again 80 ML
Then again 80 ML to finish it off with gentle swirl in the end.
Water at 97° Celsius (TDS not more than 140 PPM).
For more brightness (lime forward)
→ go slightly coarser + reduce final pour agitation
For more sweetness (jaggery heavy)
→ grind finer + extend brew closer to 3 Minutes
